Meet the Authors
The Left Bank
Anna wrote and researched Paris by Plaque – Montmartre, and The Left Bank. Working with local historians and original sources, she uncovered a host of unseen material and images.
Anna has a passion for Parisian history, the arts and storytelling, which she combines to make an accessible introduction to the hidden past of the city. Believing there is a human story behind every building or site, she brings historical events alive to the reader as they walk along.
She has visited Paris regularly for over twenty years, and met series inspiration, Paul Bethel on one of her trips there.
The Left Bank
Steve has been involved in science and technology for forty years and is fascinated by art history. His focus was on the colleges of the Left Bank and the extraordinary lives of Parisian innovators and lesser-known historical characters. "Unearthing and honouring the achievements of forgotten figures in the intellectual history of Paris's Latin Quarter was a hugely satisfying to research."
Steve runs his own consulting business from London and California when not writing books, and is a Visiting Fellow at the Royal College of Art in London.
